About Minuet Studio and Melissa Cotter, Director

Tacoma resident Melissa Cotter is the founder and director of Minuet Studio. Music has been an integral part of Ms. Cotter's life ever since her beginning vocal studies as a child in Buffalo, New York.

Later, continuing interest in musical pursuits brought her to Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J., where she studied Music Education. Since arriving on the West Coast and becoming a mother, Ms. Cotter has studied voice privately in both Seattle and Tacoma.

Melissa also holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Buffalo. This background has increased her understanding and appreciation of the importance of social organizations in fostering positive family growth, development and community well-being.

Connecting parents and children through Kindermusik Group Singing and Green Families with the formation of the Minuet Studio has given Melissa the opportunity to commit herself to those things most important to her, and to many people: family, music and community.
